Programme for the week beginning 1st July 2019

The pop-in Cafe will be held on Thursday 4th July in New College Hall between 10:30 a.m and noon on Thursday 27th June. Later at 2:00 p.m, the prayer group will meet, also in New College Hall.

On Friday 5th  July the Friends of the Priory will be hosting an organ recital by our organist, Frank Bowler.

On Saturday 6th July, at 10 am there will be another ‘big dig’ in the vicarage garden. This is the project to create a community space where local groups will work alongside each other to grow food for themselves and for local food banks. Please come along and help if you can – if you have suitable tools please bring them along and wear protective clothing. A page on this website is currently under construction to show the amazing progress that has been made so far, thanks to dedicated volunteers.

Later on Saturday,  please come along to ‘Bees Bash’ a family charity event held in the grounds of St Bees School. from1pm until 6 pm.

We have been asked to run a cake stall and serve tea and coffee for this family charity event.  Please could you see Sally Kennedy if you can give an hour or two to serve and/or bake. Thanks.

Services for Sunday 7th July, are Holy Communion at 9 a.m and 10:30 a.m, then Evensong at 6 p.m.

Morning Prayer will be held in the Priory from 9:15 until 9:45 a.m on Monday 8th July.

A Request from the vicar…

An old colleague of Becky’s who lives near Leeds is working away from home at Sellafield two days a week for 10 months from September.

He is looking for accommodation, preferably a flat but would consider lodging with someone. Becky would happily put him up but thinks vicarage life won’t give him the quiet evenings he’s hoping for!

Becky is hopeful we can find him something in St Bees. If you think you might be able to help please speak to Becky.
