A Request from the vicar…

An old colleague of Becky’s who lives near Leeds is working away from home at Sellafield two days a week for 10 months from September.

He is looking for accommodation, preferably a flat but would consider lodging with someone. Becky would happily put him up but thinks vicarage life won’t give him the quiet evenings he’s hoping for!

Becky is hopeful we can find him something in St Bees. If you think you might be able to help please speak to Becky.

And finally, a note from the vicar about our upcoming service on Sunday 30th June at 10:30 a.m:

Sunday 30th June 10.30am service “Our favourite hymns”

On the fifth Sunday of this month our Morning Worship service will have a slightly different twist.

All the hymns will have been chosen by you, the members of the congregation.

If you would like your favourite hymn included in the service you just need to;

1. Suggest a hymn

2. Explain in writing in no more than 100 words why you’ve chosen it

The individual stories of why you chose the hymns will replace the sermon.

We will try to include as many of the suggestions and explanations as we can.

If it’s a success, we’ll do it again, so don’t worry if you’ve missed out this time.

Please email all suggestions to or write them down (including your name and contact details) and put them through the vicarage door.

I look forward to hearing your favourites!
