Today is Shrove Tuesday!! The Big pancake party will be held in New College Hall (NCH) from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sweet and Savoury pancakes will be available, with lots of fillings to choose from. Entry is £2 which includes a drink and there is a bring & buy stall too. All monies raised will support the Church Urban Fund for deprived communities.
Also this week is the start of Fair Trade fortnight:
Fair Trade Fortnight 24th Feb-8th March: Changing the world one cuppa at a time!
There will be a special Egremont Farmer’s Market Friday 6th March to support Fairtrade Fortnight and raise money for the Traidcraft Exchange, who work with marginalised farmers, artisans and workers in developing countries. Working with Traidcraft Exchange gives them a chance to improve their incomes, so they can finally start to afford the everyday essentials many of us take for granted – like nutritious food, healthcare, and schooling for their children.
If you would like to help serve tea and coffee or bake a cake, please let Deb Lee or Sally Kennedy know. Cakes can be left at 20 Abbey Vale on the Thursday or brought to Egremont Market Hall on the Friday.
Please come along on Friday March 6th to Egremont Market Hall between 9.30-12.30. All takings from the tea/coffee stall along with the raffle will go to Traidcraft Exchange
The usual farmers’ and local craft stall will be there, along with live music. For more details contact Deb Lee at firstname.lastname@example.org or 823470

With the on-going threat of the Coronavirus, the diocese have issued advice based on Government health guidance:
Churches should already be following best-hygiene practices that include advising parishoners with coughs and sneezes to refrain from handshaking during the Peace and to receive Communion in one kind only. At present there is no Government advice that suggests the use of the Common Cup should be suspended. In line with best practice guidelines, there are now hand sanitisers available for use by parishoners prior to taking Communion. Intinction must be avoided as it presents an infection transmission route.
Services for this week, Sunday 1st March 2020 at the Priory are:
Holy Communion at 9 a.m and at 10:30 a.m. Evensong at 6 p.m.
Morning Prayer will be held in the Priory at 9 a.m. on Monday 2nd March
