Priory Notes – 11 March 2019

Parishoners for our 9am service this morning arrived covered in snow. There were really large flakes at one point!

Monday 11th:  

Morning Prayer in the Priory at 9.15am. Later there are Lenten evening Prayers in the Priory at 7:00 p.m.

Wednesday 13th: 

Morning Prayer in the Priory at 9.15am.
St Bees School service in the Priory at 10:30 a,m.

Lenten Lunches

Our first Lenten lunch will take place on Saturday 16th March everyone is welcome to come and share a tasty meal (home-made soup and bread & cheese) with friends in aid of our chosen charities in New College Hall from 12 noon to 2.00 p.m.

This week our hosts are Geoff & Gill Burgess, Jim & Anne Baker and team 

Do join us in a good cause (two in fact) and bring a friend. Donations this year will go to the NSPCC (St Bees branch) and the Great North Children’s Hospital charity fund at RVI in Newcastle. 

On Sunday the 17th March there will be services of Holy Communion at 9:00 and 10:30 a.m. During the 10:30 service, the teen’s church group will meet at the vicarage – all secondary school-age children are welcome. 

There will be an evening prayer service at 6:00 pm (this has changed from being a Holy Communion Service. The evening Holy Communion will now be held on the 4th Sunday in the month (24th March) at 6:00 p.m. 

Please note that there is a Central Calder Mission Community Event ‘Questions and Afters’ being held on Wednesday 3rd April from 7:00-9:00 p.m at the Methodist Church, Market Square, Cleator Moor. This is the chance to quiz a church leader and enjoy a pudding afterwards. To submit a question for the panel please email vicar@stbeespriorychurch.org.uk or speak to your local church leader by Friday 22nd March.
