Priory Notes Friday 19th May

Events taking place this week are:

Saturday 20th May: The priory Orchestra will be holding a concert at 10:30-11:30 a.m in Old College Hall. Everyone is welcome

Later between 2:00-4:00 p.m a Strawberry tea is being held in aid of the NSPCC at ‘The Hodgetts Club / Village hall (A change of venue in view of the forecast for rain),  Tickets cost £5 per person and can be obtained by telephoning 01946 824109 or 01946 822727.

On Sunday 21st May Holy Communion will be led at 9:00a.m and 10:30a.m by Jim Marshall and 6:00pm by Becky Gibbs.

On Tuesday 23rd May, the Ladies Bible study group will meet at  9:30 for 10am at 36 The Crofts. (There is no Bible study next week, 30th May)

Later in the evening, the Churchwardens licensing service will be held in the Priory at 7:30 p.m. With the support of their clergy, churchwardens will be admitted to office for the coming year by the Archdeacon. Other church officials and parishioners are encouraged to attend.

On Wednesday 24th May the Friends of the Priory will be holding their AGM at 7:00 p.m in Old College Hall

There will be a service for Ascension Day on Thursday 25th May at 10:00 a.m, led by Jim and Anne Baker in New College Hall.  Pop-in will follow at 10:30 am and later at 8:00 p.m, there will be a children’s ministry meeting also in New College Hall.

Friday 26th May: 
The Friends of the Priory Summer organ recital by Frank Bowler, will be held in the Priory at 7:30 p.m. Refreshments will be served.
PC mann and his dog will be at the St Bees Youth Club 7:00-8:30 p.m in New College Hall

Finally, Katy-Taylor Hamilton is on the cover of this week’s Whitehaven News, along with her mum, Emma-Jane. There is a lovely article about her amazing 

progress since her heart transplant in January.
