Priory Prayer spaces

At our recent Away Day representatives of the PCC reflected together on our vision “To know Christ and to make him known”. We thought about progress we have made since our Mission Action Plan, TO2020, was launched in 2015 and discussed how we might move forward.

Coincidentally, Carlisle Diocese is also looking at refreshing the “God for All” vision and has asked us to join with them in 100 days of prayer and 100 days of listening. Over the next 100 days – taking us up to Christmas Day – individuals and groups across our ecumenical county have an opportunity to review the current strategic plan, identifying and prioritising the revisions they feel are needed to continue to grow God’s Kingdom from 2020 to 2025.

From today until Christmas Day, the Priory, the Mission Community and the diocese can take this opportunity to continue in prayer and, listening to God and one another, offer their thoughts, questions and ideas to those who lead us. In order to facilitate this, prayer and listening stations will be situated in the Priory over the next weeks and months. Please spend a few moments at each of these reflective areas and make the most of the opportunity to contribute your prayers and thoughts to this discussion. Everyone will have the opportunity to feed in their thoughts and answers to prayer via an online survey https://www.godforall.org.uk/100-days-of-listening.html.

Christian Aid Christmas Appeal 2019

Please support the Christian Aid Christmas Appeal and help ensure abetter life for mothers living in difficult places to be a woman.   You can give using the envelopes at the back of church, leaving money in the bucket or donating on line at https://www.christianaid.org.uk/christmas-appeal

Women have the power to liberate themselves, their families and others from oppression. Through their God-given gifts, they could transform lives.   Poverty, inequality, violence and injustice often deny women opportunity. For those who are also mothers, life is doubly difficult as they fight to protect and raise their children.   This Christmas, Christian Aid are highlighting the transformational change that women around the world can achieve if given the chance.

Please give them that chance by donating to Christian Aid this Christmas
