Priory News – 25 March

It looks like we are in for a few days of Spring-like weather. Bluebells are starting to bloomy and is does feel warmer.

Programme for the week:

Monday 25th:  

Morning Prayer in the Priory at 9.15am. Later there are Lenten evening Prayers in the Priory at 7:00 p.m.

Wednesday 27th: 

Morning Prayer in the Priory at 9.15am. 

The funeral of Molly Branch is being held at 1:00 pm in the Priory followed by committal as Distington Crematorium at 2:00 p.m.

Thursday 28th:

Pop-in Cafe will be held at the usual time of 10:30 a.m until noon.

Friday 29th:

The Friends of the Priory are holding a talk ‘Murdered in Old St Pauls’  at 7:30 p.m in New College Hall. The speaker is Dr Ian Hill.

Posy making for mothering Sunday will take place in church on Saturday 30th March from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Do come and help make up the posies! If possible please bring Spring flowers, heathers and greenery for the posies. Details from Mary Branford.

Don’t forget to put your clocks one hour forward last thing Saturday evening – thankfully we can look forward to lighter evenings!

Sunday 31st:

Holy Communion at 9:00 a.m followed by our all-age Mothering Sunday service (with the orchestra) at 10:30 a.m. Evening Prayer will be held at 6:00 p.m.

Also on Sunday, the church youth group will meet in the vicarage at 6:00 p.m.

Don’t forget that  next week, the Central Calder Mission Community Event ‘Questions and Afters’ is being held on Wednesday 3rd April from 7:00-9:00 p.m at the Methodist Church, Market Square, Cleator Moor. This is the chance to quiz a church leader and enjoy a pudding afterwards.
