New College Hall
The Priory has long enjoyed the appreciation of both congregation and parishioners, who helped repair and maintain this lovely historic building. During the last 10 years or so there have been a number of major repair and renovation projects – re-roofing of the nave of the church, repairing a re-pointing the tower, and the installation of a badly needed efficient gas fired heating system; re-roofing Old College Hall (including internal works and gas heating installation); and re-roofing the south transept over the organ. These works were funded by grants, church reserves and generous support from the church and parish community.
As a result of this work and financial help, the Priory is now in a generally good condition and secured for future generations.
The most recent work has been on New College Hall, and thanks to generous donations from the community, as well as grants from Copeland Community Fund, the building has been made more weatherproof, central heating has been installed and both upper and lower halls are now re-decorated.
Both halls are available for hire -current rate is £7.50 an hour.
